Make Christmas Pot Pourri
How To Make your own Clove, Cinnamon and Orange Pot Pourri
If you want to have a nice aroma around your house over Christmas using natural herbs and fruits you can easily do this and it doesn’t take much time. Get some cloves and small fresh oranges. Stick the clove pieces around the oranges until they are completely covered. Start from the top and work round in circles or spirals if you want to make a pattern.
Depending what size you want your ‘pot pourri’ to be you can use 1 clove orange for a small bowl, 2 for a medium sized one and 3 – 4 for larger bowls. You can also put some colored tissue paper or decorated napkins in the base of the bowl for the effect. Arrange some cinnamon sticks, dried leaves, small red berries, cones and twigs around the oranges to make an aesthetic looking pot pourri bowl.
You can also spray paint or paint your cones, leaves and twigs in any color you want; gold and silver make a nice effect but you can also use blue, red, white and yellow poster paints to save money if you don’t want to buy spray can ones. Just make sure they don’t get wet otherwise the color will run. But if you’re worried about this then you can also use a varnish on top to seal the paint. This makes a nice clove and cinnamon pot pourri and has a very strong smell which lasts for about 2 weeks.
